The Senior Business Manager – Chain Sales (SBM) is a primary liaison between C&S and the customer and is domiciled at the Customer’s headquarters office. The SBM is the conduit between C&S departments such as Procurement, Sales, Operations, Transportation, and Demand Planning with the appropriate customer partners. The SBM monitors and enforces Best Practices, tracks contractual requirements and deviations, drives key metrics, supports opportunities requiring escalation, and leads or participates in various projects.
Manage interaction between C&S and customer senior management, including customer initiatives of operations, expansions, new business, start-ups, and process improvement
Work with the customer and internal business partners to resolve issues
Forecast sales, plan seasonal business, and prepare and maintain budget
Prepare quarterly presentations reflecting business trends
Monitor contract compliance and policy adherence.
Ensure all processes are implemented and executed (i.e. Ad management, new, discontinued, short-coded, and “dead” product) and implement process improvement
Participate in customer calls with C&S partners to address new opportunities and projects.
Negotiate with the customer to maximize product flow, inventory, and to coordinate future action with short-coded and slow moving inventory.
Train, coach, and ensure service level targets are met.
Partner with C&S procurement group to ensure compliance and to maximize performance.
Responsible for management of others, including hiring, training, counseling and other functions where applicable
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Five plus years in Grocery or retail operations
Solid understanding of all business functions including Finance, Transportation, Operations and Retail Sales
Skilled using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
The ability to communicate, influence negotiations, and interact with all management levels
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Ability to quickly address issues and suggest resolution
Strong ability to multi-task and be successful in a quickly changing business environment
Ability to manage customer interactions that can be highly charged and confrontational
