Position Overview

As a Supervisor Industrial Building Maintenance - MHE you will support the Facilities Maintenance Manager and Warehouse Operations to ensure smooth/uninterrupted warehouse functionality by providing leadership to the facilities maintenance staff, including development and management training to shift leader and hourly staff. You will provide leadership to material handling equipment mechanics, building mechanics, battery technicians, and all other maintenance team members, as well as provide direction and oversight for the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including utilization and parts tracking. You will act as an interface between the Maintenance and Operations teams.


  • Provide functional and technical knowledge required for all MHE systems, building systems, maintenance systems, and maintenance asset management. Support manager with the coordination of the day to day operations of the maintenance, oversight of budgets, short- term rentals, long term rentals, purchases, capital improvements, etc.

  • Supervise on a daily basis all material handling equipment technicians (MHE) technicians, building technicians, refrigeration technicians, battery technicians, and other maintenance team members.

  • Support manager with oversight and management of all outsource manufacturer’s representatives and vendors performing work at the facility.

  • Provide MHE operations technical support while supporting manager with coordinating the performance of the labor for all shops including: schedules, shop schedule re-alignment to meet warehouse operation’s needs, and preventative maintenance programs as required

  • Provide quarterly inspections of all fleet vehicles and battery systems

  • Review all department work orders and purchase orders as required on a weekly basis. Review daily shop operations/metrics with all technicians to include: daily down-line monitoring, parts requisition / purchase orders, work orders, warranty recover, damage, preventative maintenance program, and time/attendance. Coordinate labor and workforce as required

  • Work closely with Maintenance Manager to help oversee the facility’s usage of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Review Work Orders and Purchase Orders on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness. Monitor the PM work orders to ensure the team completes them on a weekly basis; review by Technician compared to payroll labor.

  • Monitor the use parts bins daily to ensure efficient parts usage; ensure that the on hand inventories are accurate for parts and that proper Purchase Order quantities are placed when needed.

  • Assist the Director in executing and monitoring of approximately $1MM yearly operational budget and $2MM capital budget for the facility. Assist with the monetary requests and ensure they are completed (Capital and Expense requests both budgeted and non-budgeted) on time, within budget, ensuring high quality and with minimal disruption to Operations.

  • Attend meetings as needed and communicate initiatives/provide feedback to Manager.

  • Assist Manager and other maintenance teams at nearby C&S facilities with special projects as needed.


  • High School Diploma with focus in technical trades; Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Engineering preferred

  • 4 years in Facilities maintenance with focus on MHE and Building systems

  • 2 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting ammonia refrigeration systems

  • Mechanical background, MHE, electrical, hydraulics and welding experience

  • Computer Experience, including CMMS systems, a plus
