As an Internal Auditor, I get to see all facets of the company, from Finance and Merchandising, to Warehousing, Transportation, and Security. This type of exposure is something that isn’t possible in many other roles, and it has provided me with a great base of knowledge about the company and the industry. I’ve been able to work with financial statements, but I’ve also been able to see where C&S actually makes its money. At times, there is a disconnect between employees working in Corporate offices and those working out in our warehouses and retail stores, but Internal Audit bridges that gap. We look at controls to see where we are weak and work in collaboration with management to improve practices and procedures, in an attempt to make the company stronger and more efficient. This is only my first job out of college, and I have already learned so much about C&S and the business we are in! "

The Business Analyst program allowed me the opportunity to work in a number of roles and work environments within my first two years at C&S. I completed rotations in Merchandising, Procurement, Finance Operations and Supply Chain, and was given a high level of responsibility. For example, coordinating a major project at C&S required working closely with warehouse VPs and almost every department across the company. The program also enabled me to see the end result of our department’s efforts by visiting the warehouse and viewing the operation in action. This highlighted the importance of our work in the office and its major impact on our facilities. One of the greatest advantages of working at C&S is the accessibility of all levels of management, allowing me to learn from others and gain mentors who have helped me shape my career path. The program provided me with an accelerated learning curve, a network of valuable employees, and the ability to find the right fit in the organization. "
