As a Senior Buyer , you will coordinate multiple activities with Associate Buyers, Buyers, and Assistants to maintain contractual and/or company goals for all major accounts service levels and inventory levels. In this role, you will be responsible for developing associates via continual training, recognizing successes for company, teams’ and individuals’ successes, and mentoring against KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators); including service levels, turn weeks on hand, dead inventory, and salvage budgets. You will work with the customers, vendors, Ops Planning, warehousing, Customer Integrators, Account Team, and Demand Planning to solve potential issues and will be responsible for proactive communication with the Manager.
Manage, direct, and support team service levels by identifying, reacting, monitoring, and communicating potential problems
Provide training, mentoring, and direction to other team members
Collaborate with multiple internal departments (e.g. Operations, Transportation, Logistics, Warehousing) to accomplish individual, team and company goals, including the development and implementation of holiday and seasonal plans and working with facilities on service level and inventory opportunities.
Negotiate with vendors to maximize product flow, manage inventory levels, and coordinate action against close coded, expired, and other unproductive inventory.
Procurement of product from branded and non-branded manufacturers to achieve targeted service level
Interaction with customers; to include involvement in daily/weekly meetings, problem solving, and KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
Partner with the team in conjunction with the merchandising group on new items, maintenance, and achievement of gross profit goals.
Leverage available systems to continually improve data utilization and decision-making capabilities.
Manage a salvage financial budget, working with buyers, vendors, and customers to minimize the expense to C&S.
Execute the inventory transfer process and budget through vendor negotiations amongst the teams
Full accountability when Team manager is not present
Additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Provide motivating and constructive feedback to the team through coaching and mentoring that the team can translate into development actions.

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
One or more years relevant experience
Procurement experience, forecasting (turn and promotion, seasonality, Biceps system)
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
