Position Overview

As a Payroll Specialist III , you will provide the Finance department with accurate payroll postings, supply information as needed and maintain the accuracy of payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Process employees pay timely, accurately and fairly.

  • Use the programs effectively and correctly, including Lawson, Red Prairie, and Workbrain.

  • To process daily incentive payrolls including imports and processing.

  • To correct any errors that may arise to employees pay, to include hourly, salary and incentive pay. Including team corrections and 8wk/13wk average adjustments.

  • To asses how errors happen and what to do to correct the issue.

  • 8wk/13wk average adjustments for disability employees.

  • Process adjustments and manual checks.

  • To communicate with the facility clerks, supervisors, managers and Human Resources specialists to ensure accuracy of all payrolls.

  • To produce reports for the warehouses and upper management , some daily, some weekly.

  • To research and answer questions about employees pay.

  • Back up for other team members when needed.

  • Check printing

  • There may be special projects assigned to you as needed by your supervisor

Qualifications

  • Must have common sense and attention to detail, as well as being able to prioritize

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Ability to see either the big or little picture

  • Must have a good understanding of how to use excel.

  • Payroll experience a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Must have good communication skills and able to work in a team environment.

  • Must care about people and their pay, this is essential.

  • Must be able to learn and retain information in a fast working environment.
