Position Overview

The Vice President of Talent and Organizational Development will be a strategic thought partner across the HR function and a key contributor to C&S’s Strategic Growth Plan- specifically the Talent and Culture Pillar. In partnership with the CHRO and as a member of the HR Leadership Team, this individual will be focused on developing effective, high-impact talent solutions that help the enterprise realize its purpose and achieve its objectives.

Job Description

  • Oversee TOD team through strong leadership, training and coaching

  • Team consists of 4-5 individuals and are responsible for all Talent Management, Performance Management, and HR Analytic functions.

Talent Planning:

  • Facilitate and continually improve the talent review and succession planning process that directly align to C&S’s values and culture

  • Evaluate and select system to support all talent processes

  • Design and deliver high-potential, executive development, and other key talent initiatives (e.g. General Manager development program) to address talent needs/gaps in the organization

  • Partner with HR business partners, total rewards and talent acquisition on talent pipeline and career paths including ultimate implementation with Cornerstone

Performance Management:

  • Facilitate and improve key processes related to goal setting, performance management, etc., and drive outcomes from these processes to deliver on strategic objectives

  • Set strategy and execute changes within performance management to embed values and leadership competencies

  • Drive a high-performance/high-engagement culture by providing leaders with education/support on how to set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing and direct feedback

  • Serve as primary owner/driver of Talent/Performance Management programs, leveraging the system’s capabilities to deliver on and enhance our strategic talent objectives

Learning and Development:

  • Design an e-learning strategy the leverages new LMS (Cornerstone) and Content and intermingles with existing instructor led training

  • Further the design and implementation of functional and management training curriculum for our Warehouse Operations leadership team

  • Develop and launch a corporate Leadership Development Program that offers a best in class experience to our leaders incorporating; self awareness, business acumen, experiential learning and values based leadership.

  • Oversee content management and curation of training programs within Cornerstone

  • Partner with department leads and provide thought leadership in leveraging Cornerstone LMS to support functional training efforts

  • Set strategy for delivery of C&S Way instructor led courses

Organizational Health:

  • Oversee the Organizational Health survey process annually through 2021 to include action planning and providing guidance to Executive team

  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to ensure direct alignment of talent programs to Organizational Health needs

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of senior level experience in a talent management or similar strategic HR leadership role - with demonstrated success leading large and complex talent strategies and programs across an enterprise footprint

  • A high potential business leader who consistently demonstrates strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, learning agility

  • Experience in partnering effectively with leaders at all levels of the organization and a strong track record of executing on key initiatives through networking and collaboration in a complex, matrixed environment

  • Effective executive level presentation skills; excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to act in a leadership and consultative role with multi levels and areas of the business

  • Experience implementing large scale organizational change strategies and initiatives; ability to drive the understanding of business strategies into actionable and compelling talent development initiatives

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development

  • Results oriented, data driven, curious, and passionate about talent development
