Responsible for the compilation of key financial analyses for all operational areas of the company to support strategic decision making process, with focus on new business, mergers & acquisitions and efficiency projects. Provides strategic business partnership to Operations leadership and manages large operating and logistics programs with the goal of continued improvement in profitability and controls. Manages all aspects of the financial planning and reporting cycle including budgeting & forecasting financial accounting, management reporting and performance analysis. Prepares analytic models for senior management to support strategic decision making in areas of network optimization, mergers & acquisitions, business expansion and efficiency.
Manage the development of financial models (known as proformas) that drive decision making for potential new business opportunities and/or volume realignment within the C&S network. Partner with Operations to compile proforma model metrics, analyze and align on all details. Present to senior Operations management and gain approval. Partner with Business Insights and Corporate Development groups to ensure full understanding of assumptions
Manage due diligence work for Operations functions for potential mergers and acquisitions. Conduct on-site visits to review Operations, understand financials and metrics. Develop financial analysis to assist decision making based on on-site observations and information, present to Operations management and Corporate Development. Partner with internal Operations groups to identify and evaluate potential synergies with C&S network
Partner with Operations groups to identify and evaluate potential savings within the C&S network. Compile Return On Investment models, present to Operations management. Carry out post implementation analysis to evaluate effectiveness of initiatives
Prepare and present analysis to senior management regarding status of modeling. Ensure analysis is completed on a timely basis. Ensure effective conclusion to and documentation of presented models. Manage the workflow approval process including general manager sign off through senior operational management
Provide budget/forecast support to Operational finance groups by providing metrics, cost assumptions, customer details for any business changes
Develop adhoc operations analysis as needed to Senior Operations management & Operations functions, Business Insights, Corporate Development & Corporate leadership
Continually assess financial models used for completeness, accuracy and effectiveness as strategic decision making tools. Make adjustments and communicate changes. Review external models and software. Collaborate with internal partners in Operations, Business Insights, Corporate Development to ensure assumptions and principles are aligned and fully understood. Review previous analysis for accuracy in predicting outcomes. Review projects within financial analysis group to enhance understanding and encourage critical thinking
Continually assess processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure documentation and compliance with procedures
Recruit, develop and lead a team of employees including :Identification of annual objectives and performance assessment. Provide day to day training and other development opportunities consistent with objectives
