The Project Manager of Transportation Logistics is responsible for managing customer-driven Transportation business and system process changes throughout all phases of the project life-cycle. Projects will primarily include new customer and carrier on-boarding, network planning and logistics changes driven by current customers and system process improvement initiatives. Working within the transportation services team (modeling, analytics, business intelligence, project management, and systems logistics), you will ensure all project workstreams are properly planned and executed, from initial scoping to final delivery to operations. It will be your priority to collaborate with internal and external partners to seamlessly achieve successful completion of every assigned project.
This position is responsible for managing multiple medium or large sized projects, and stewarding a cross-functional resource pool to support various transportation system changes and maintenance processes. This position will also be responsible for process improvement within the Transportation network leveraging the transportation modeling, analytics, and business intelligence teams.
Work with business and technical stakeholders to create a project plan, organizing all individuals involved, create/facilitate and develop a task/action list to hold all parties accountable and measure success. You will also manage the relationship with the stakeholders to ensure they are 100% satisfied with the project and attain return on investment.
Monitor and report on the status of efforts, anticipating and identifying risks that inhibit the attainment of project goals.
Facilitate risk management reviews.
Conduct review meetings at the end of each project milestone and phase.
Effectively and consistently communicate work progress internally and, as applicable, externally throughout each project.
Travel to distribution centers, warehouses, and dispatch centers to elicit feedback to improve processes and conduct requirements gathering, coaching, and training activities.
Ensure Logistics Solutions Team and Operations is cohesive in their process improvement strategies and objectives.
Ensure all Transportation systems are stable and maximizing performance. Drive a culture of urgency within the IT Organization, Logistics Solutions, and Operations.
Respond to day to day issues, questions, and requests around our systems and process related to current and planned project workloads.
Manage projects and system enhancements to hit timelines and performance goals.
Build strong relationships with key contacts in Operations, Supply Chain, and IT departments along with our Supply Chain vendor partners.
Travel to field locations to gather requirements, meet with vendor partners, and oversee implementations.
Detail oriented, tracking tasks and deliverables against goals.
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem solving.
Ability to build a detailed project plan, including timeline, resource allocation, and cost.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or Computer Science.
2-5 years of experience in or close to Transportation Operations.
Strong functional knowledge of computer systems, both PC based (MS Suite), as well as familiarity of transportation systems (Manhattan, FourKites, Trimble) is preferred.
Experience managing projects is strongly preferred.
