Position Overview

This Transportation Systems Analyst supports the Transportation Department's operational and strategic initiatives through the Transportation Management System (TMS), FourKites (Track and Trace), Electronic Log Device (Driver Hours of Service), Yard Management System (YMS), and various reporting tools. The Systems Analyst plays a key role in the maintenance of transportation systems, communication of processes to end-users and the data integrity by supporting day to day operations and process initiatives. The analyst will also develop reports using Supply Chain data for our end users who manage carrier, financial, and operational performance. The analyst must be able to effectively communicate with our Supply Chain teams, the Information Technology group, and remotely with our Distribution Centers.

Description

  • Lead and participate in process improvement projects that support business initiatives through the Transportation Management System. Tasks include documentation of current business processes, cross-functional development of new processes, working with IT team(s) to determine scope and system requirements, SOP documentation, system testing, user acceptance testing and end user training.

  • Gather and document report requirements from subject matter experts, create reports using SQL and related technology and perform data validation to support Transportation initiatives including Carrier Performance, Budgeting, Financial Performance and Operational Dashboards. Provide ongoing support for ad hoc report requests for specific reporting output on key business events, trends, and opportunities.

  • Provide TMS, FourKites, and ELD production support, working closely with IT, end users and third party software providers to document, troubleshoot and test new functionality within the application and issues support. Subject matter expert for Transportation processes as they relate to all Supply Chain systems.

  • Maintain key data elements through configuring the TMS for inbound and outbound shipment planning, appointment scheduling, freight payment, and ad hoc projects to support business needs.

  • Perform ad hoc analysis in excel pertaining to Supply Chain projects and initiatives to support operational business decisions.

Skills

  • Specialized Knowledge : Scrum Master, Yellow or Green Belt preferred. Knowledge of the transportation industry, strong systems aptitude with working knowledge in transportation systems support, ability to work directly with IT to present business requirements.

  • Special Skills : Microsoft Office Suite, General appreciation for Supply Chain technology, SQL or related experience. Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Problem Solving.
