Position Overview

Serving as a Manhattan TMS Super User and Process Improvement Lead in the Transportation Department, the TMS Product Specialist will work closely with Transportation project managers, vendors, and end-users to execute base data, configuration, and quality control efforts and maintain a best in-class system and business processes for the TMS software application so that C&S delivers operational excellence and improved customer experience.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work directly with end users to monitor, identify, review, clarify and document quality control data, bugs, issues, enhancement requests, and business requirements.

  • Establish, prioritize, and manage Manhattan TMS continued improvement activities.

  • Assist in the implementation of application enhancements and incremental updates; ensure alignment of end-user expectations. Assist in all phases of testing including systems integration testing, user acceptance testing and end-user training.

  • Understand and train others on TMS processes and functionality.

  • Establish and be accountable for TMS Quality Control.

  • Lead enhancement and issues communications across the Transportation network.

  • Maintain accurate base data and configuration information.

  • Monitor and review application logs; troubleshoot application errors. Assist end-users with process updates, user issues, and facilitate changes to correct errors when necessary.

  • Partner with vendor and IT to ensure timely and successful software upgrade and maintenance activities.

  • Deliver project coordination activities; provide work level estimates, review business requirements and provide status updates to appropriate team members. Liaison between transportation teams and other parties like the warehouse, dedicated carrier, procurement, customer experience, and software vendor partners.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which models The C&S Way and facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

  • TMS functional knowledge.

  • Strong computer skills, with particular focus on spreadsheet and word processing software.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Working knowledge of logistics and/or transportation operations is a plus.

  • Understand software development life cycles and project management methods from the development of requirements stage through implementation and hyper care stage is a plus.

  • Knowledge of transportation logistics is a plus.

  • Manhattan Associates or other Transportation Management System (TMS) functional knowledge a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field strongly preferred.

  • One to four (2+) years TMS business or systems process improvement, information technology, or related experience; configuration and systems implementation experience is preferred.

  • Solid collaboration and facilitation skills are required.

  • Proficiency with Visio is a plus.

  • PMP/CAPM, Six Sigma, and/or Scrum Master/Agile Certification is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Suite is a must.

  • Proficiency in reporting and story-telling is a plus.
