Position Overview

Responsible for the recording, analysis, internal and external reporting of cash & borrowing for the company. Coordinate preparation of cash forecasting and debt & interest projections. Manage the company’s treasury software system, coordinate and provide information to external auditors and partner with banks. Assist in optimization of debt and bank account structures.

Treasury overview:

Manages the liquidity of the C&S Company and affiliates, including collections, disbursements, concentration, investment and funding activities. Create ongoing cash forecasts and optimization of bank account structure for the company. Optimize company’s debt structure, maintain bank relations, manage financing for equipment leasing, and manage fuel hedge program. Responsible for preparation of asset collateral analysis and quarterly bank covenant reporting to support company debt

Responsibilities

  • Review/provide analysis of :

  • Daily cash position and weekly sources & uses of cash

  • Daily and weekly (7 day rolling) projected borrowing needs and cash investment requirements

  • Ad hoc analysis as needed

  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of journal entries for cash activity in Oracle general ledger

  • Coordinate the preparation of weekly and monthly interest expense entries for P&L and annual and quarterly budgets/forecasts for debt & interest

  • Optimize bank account structure, via

  • Open and close bank accounts

  • Analysis and maximization of payment float (time between check issue and clearance) for different accounts

  • Analysis of payment options for vendors moving to electronic payment method

  • Assist treasurer to establish and develop relationships with banks to ensure the company’s banking needs are fully met and be main point of contact on day to day issues

  • Ensure the preparation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for debt and interest and ensure support provided to accounting with cash account reconciliations

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly asset collateral analysis and quarterly bank covenant reporting to support borrowing, and manage collateral audit with banks

  • Manage financing for equipment leasing – coordinate with accounting to establish financing, prepare analysis, track payments and advise accounting ongoing

  • Manage fuel hedges to ensure compliance with company hedge strategy - obtain fuel hedge quotes to assist in establishing contracts, provide analysis for quarterly financial statements, provide budget guidance for internal finance groups

  • Manage administration of treasury work station (information system where bank information resides)

  • Coordinate and manage documentation/information as required for external auditors and provide quarterly debt analysis to external reporting for preparation of financial statements

  • Lead the ongoing assessment of controls and procedures for the group and ensure changes implemented where necessary

  • Ensure procedures and controls are adhered to and comply with accounting policies

  • Ensure all procedures are documented

  • Recruit, develop and lead a team of employees including :

  • Identification of annual objectives and performance assessment

  • Provide day to day training and other development opportunities consistent with objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field required

  • Minimum of five years of applicable experience

  • Attainment of CTP designation highly preferred

  • Significant demonstrated experience with treasury and banking systems and processes, proficiency in Excel
