Position Overview

As the Vice President, Continous Inprovements you wll oversee the nationwide Continuous Improvement program in efforts to implement supply chain initiatives that effectively contribute to the company’s overall performance, create and leverage a Standard Operating Procedure program, and provide education and training to the organization. This position will lead strategic, transformational and operational improvement projects working with a cross functional team to enable process, technology and organizational effectiveness. This individual must be able to work collaboratively across the organization engaging with the all divisions, brands, and operating functions. Leverage Six Sigma and Lean process methodologies as a tool to engage the organization to build solutions that deliver results. Coach, train, partner and provide leadership to the team members through Six Sigma / Lean knowledge base, concepts and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development, leadership and execution of the continuous improvement long range plan inclusive of project selection, resource management and technology innovation. Assist in vetting and prioritizing projects, determining 3rd party partners and soliciting innovative strategies for the company. Build and implement a standard operating procedure program where clear expectations of how we operate are documented, housed, communicated, and used to assess our capabilities versus expectations. Lead cross functional engagements with SME’s and Operations Leadership to link initiatives and desired outcomes to the company’s strategic growth plan and ensure alignment on goals, expectations, and resource planning.

  • Constantly assess if the team has the right structure and personnel to support the business. Ensure that the right processes are in place for development plans and succession planning. Be a developer and exporter of talent for the rest of the organization.

  • – Facilitate a company sponsored learning/study group for C&S employees to earn their Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Increase C&S expertise and knowledge in continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and effectiveness. Support both organizational needs to achieve strategic goals and employee development/career goals. Significantly streamline how changes and requests for the operation are documented, communicated, and implemented. Reduce confusion on who to go to for what and clearly define the C&S Way/what it means to win. Drive operational excellence within the business with key leaders and ensure the use of Lean / Six Sigma tools in daily management.

  • Deliver step function year over year bottom line improvements to fund the futureLead a portfolio of projects by managing different groups, conflicting schedules and resources. Resolve conflicts and identify solutions to move projects to successful completion. Assess and perform current process mapping and design value-added future process environment. Develop a transition plan to move organization from current process to future state. Lead project teams, develop business cases and expected ROI. Responsible for creating data plan, collecting and consolidating data, establishing metrics, performing analysis, explaining results and articulating concise conclusions for Executive Leadership. Partner with Operations and Finance for process mapping, budget implications, operational effectiveness, and cost analysis to determine project feasibility and expected ROI. Leverage metrics and analytic tools to craft a compelling message by leveraging various presentation techniques. Effectively communicate current processes and future solution recommendations. Provide education and training to the operations team to complement the standard practice expectations and quickly achieve results.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or Related Fields.

  • MBA and/or MS in Supply Chain preferred.

  • Experience: 7+ years in Finance or core Supply Chain Operations roles (Transportation/Warehouse)

  • 5+ years as a Continuous Improvement leader, Supply Chain Operations

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality when required

  • Strong leadership and management skills through a direct and matrixed organization

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
