As a Manager of Security and Safety , you will be responsible for successfully implementing security policies, procedures and audit programs. As well as investigating violations of law and company policies and operating within budget constraints while ensuring that security supervisors and guards are trained.
Responsible for the implementation and local management of the corporate Food Safety Management System that includes documentation, control and adherence to all appropriate sanctioning regulatory concerns including FDA and customer-driven requirements. Ensures that all corporate HACCP plan development, allergen management, documentation and control are in place at all Hansen facilities.
Audit all Hansen facilities for compliance to C&S Food Safety SOPs, 3rd party audit requirements, and customer food safety programs, as well as OSHA, EHS and Security requirements.
Partner with Operations and Facilities Maintenance to escalate unresolved items and drive improvement through corrective action follow-up.
Work closely with Operations to instill a culture that embraces safety and regulatory compliance.
Develop a thorough understanding of the work flow in the facility in order to recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed while still meeting the intent of the regulation. Evaluate and revise internal processes and policies to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Accountable in providing facilities the assistance on activities to ensure compliance to all FDA, OSHA, local regulatory and customer requirements. Will assist facility management staffs in review for facility compliance and will assist leadership on internal and external audits.
Assist in the implementation, modification, and execution of Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) for warehouse and manufacturing operations. Manage, administer, communicate, and coordinate the Warehouse Safety & Security Program at a warehouse location/ campus.
Act as certified HACCP manager ensuring all components of the HACCP plan and the food safety plan are met. Verify required documentation and work with Regional Food Safety Specialist on any issues that arise.
Attend Safety Meetings to ensure that safety issues are brought up and corrected in a timely manner.
Monitor Shift Startup briefings to ensure Safety Messages are understood, interact with new employees to ensure they understand the safety training.
Utilize the supervisor scorecard to ensure all supervisors are leading a safety culture. Be a presence on the warehouse floor coaching supervisors and associates on safety practices.
Keep all necessary OSHA, State, and Federal registrations and certifications current as required.
Implement procedures as defined by corporate policy & procedure to audit shipping and receiving as well as other operational areas where theft may occur.
Responsible for conducting security investigations related to theft or other criminal violations against the company. Complete security audits on business units as required or requested by Corporate security.
Work with contract guard Management Company to ensure proper training of guards and execution of corporate and local standards.
Review and evaluate performance of the various functions, address performance gaps and take corrective action as needed to ensure the warehouse and transportation teams are delivering on all compliance, safety and security goals.
Conduct new hire orientation covering the Food Safety, OSHA, MHE Safety, and Warehouse Safety training sections.
Support, champion, and participate in the Safety Committee Meetings and help address the concerns raised.
Manages the Workers’ Compensation and return to work program. Investigates all accidents/injuries to determine Root Cause and ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken to reduce accidents/injuries.
Assists Operations and HR by conducting Drug Testing for Post-Accidents, Pre-employment, and Reasonable suspicion.
Bachelor's Degree preferred – Food Science , EHS or Safety related degree preferred
5 years of warehousing experience.
Seafood or Manufacturing HACCP certification / Certified Food Safety Manager / Preventive Controls Qualified Individual / Servsafe, etc.
Management experience,business writing skills,basic law and security certifications.
Experience in CCTV installation, investigative skills.
Computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
