The Manager, Retail Development, has division-level responsibility for working with independent supermarket owners and managers to develop retail capabilities of the store. A key function is assisting both new and existing stores in upgrading facilities to maintain competitiveness in the marketplace. He/she will utilize industry experience for guidance on store design, equipment sales, project management, energy conservation, and understanding code requirements for the independent supermarket groups. He/she must be focused on the Customer Experience and able to balance several active projects at the same time.
Services & Programs – Support expansion/remodeling and store development projects to attain projected sales and profit goals.
Services & Programs – Actively promote equipment sales to customers through remodeling, expansion, and upgrade of retail facilities so that the retailers remain viable in the marketplace.
Customer Experience – Actively promote Retail Development Services and Programs to the retailers to help reduce costs and improve retail operations and customer appeal.
Project Management – Manage all phases of store development projects to include: cost projections, site development, layout and design, merchandising concepts, equipment/fixture selection, financial projections and operation performance analysis. Provide clear direction to retailers throughout all phases of expansion or development projects.
Individual Development – Maintain working knowledge of store equipment, refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, decor and lighting, construction methods and procedures.
Leadership & Strategy – Attend regional sales meetings, retailer meetings, Trade Shows and Expos to educate sales associates and retailers on the benefits of Retail Development Services and Programs to enhance retail operations and performance.

Specialized Knowledge : Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, CAD, retail store operations
Special Skills: Sales ability to “cold call” and sell products and services
Other: Ability to work independently to achieve goals
