The Employee Relations Specialist will assist in the execution of the company's employee relations strategy which requires effective response and resolution of employee relations situations and proactive engagement to maintain a positive work environment. The position will support multiple locations in CA with Stockton as main base to include Sacramento and Rancho Cordova. This position reports directly to the Regional HR Business Partner with performance and tactical guidance provided by the functional leader of Employee Relations for the company.
Conduct thorough and timely workplace investigations in accordance with the company's methodology and complies to all applicable laws; utilize the employee case management system to ensure detailed and timely documentation of all employee relation matters; communicate effectively with all employees during investigations and decision makers in all employee relation matters.
Provide guidance in situations requiring conflict resolution, policy/procedure interpretation, performance management, job eliminations and other terminations, disciplinary actions, and other issues representing significant risk to the organization.
Partner within the HR function and with other departments such as legal and security when appropriate to inform decision making and minimize risk to the company.
Conduct employee relations and other company sponsored trainings.
Conduct employee relations assessments in accordance with the company's methodology.
Provide recommendations on policies and procedures that support a positive work experience.
Collect and analyze multiple levels of feedback using company approved methods.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Specialized Knowledge : Knowledge of relevant state and federal employment laws
2+ years experience working in a union environment
Special Skills : Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Other: : Demonstrate a high level of initiative with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, deal with ambiguity, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed; Ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism
Other : Able to travel to multiple sites/locations in CA.
