C&S Virtual Interview – How to Prepare

At C&S, your health and safety are important to us! We are an essential business working to protect our candidates and employees with our updated processes in response to COVID-19.

We have enhanced our routine cleaning and sanitation practices in alignment with CDC guidelines and are enforcing social distancing in all of our distribution centers. We have made reusable masks available to all associates in our buildings and ask employees to check their temperature prior to coming to work.

Our interviews and tours have also shifted to a virtual platform, including Realistic Job Previews in lieu of live tours to ensure the safety of all candidates applying for positions.

Before Your Interview Begins
  • Do your research, check out our website to learn more
  • For selector positions, ensure you have checked out both our Realistic Job Preview and YouTube Videos to learn more about the role and warehouse environment
  • Download Ring Central or Zoom depending on platform of interview (both can be downloaded as an app for phone or desktop)
  • Test the application prior to your interview, your recruiting contact will send you a meeting ID for your individual interview – ensure video and audio capabilities are working prior
  • If you are unable to use a virtual platform, please contact your recruiter and they will discuss alternative options
  • Read through our virtual interview guide below to be fully prepared
Day of Your Interview
  • Think about the space — pick a quiet environment that has good lighting and is free of distractions. Your recruiter will be understanding of your unique circumstances given all that is going on (i.e. kids, pets)
  • Wear something comfortable — dress code for virtual interviews is business casual
  • Try to log in prior to the interview – confirm your camera and audio are working and there are no issues with your internet connection
    • You will have the option to use Computer Audio/Microphone or to call in using a phone – may want to mute yourself when you aren’t speaking
  • Ensure your device is fully charged prior to the interview
Tips and Tricks
  • If you experience technical difficulties, try to restart the Zoom or RingCentral application
  • If you are experiencing audio problems, try to dial in using a mobile phone if you haven’t done so — otherwise your interviewer will plan to call you directly
  • If you experience any difficulty connecting and aren’t able to resolve — e-mail your recruiting contact right way
FAQs

Does this change apply to all roles? What if I have an in-person interview scheduled?
Your recruiter should have reached out to you to confirm if your interview will be virtual. In some circumstances, interviews may still be scheduled on-site. You if are unsure, reach out to your recruiting contact to confirm the details of your interview.

I was invited to participate in an in-person interview but I would prefer virtual. Is that an option?
100%, yes. Let your recruiting contact know that you would prefer a virtual interview instead and they will assist you.

Do I need to use video for the interview or can I just dial in via phone?
We ask that you use video for your virtual interview. Let your recruiting contact know if you do not have access to a webcam.

Do you treat virtual interviews the same as onsite interviews?
While the setup is different, we treat virtual interviews the same as in-person.

How are assessments used in the interview process?
Any assessments taken as used as a guide for the interview process, we don’t use as part of our selection process
