Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to: The Marketing manager will be responsible for providing support to the C&S organization in the management and development of retail marketing, new business, sales, retail services, and customer communications. The Marketing Manager will collaborate across departments to develop and implement print/web-based collateral, advertising, sales presentations, retailer marketing program operations and development, customer communications and management of the Speed to Shelf Program.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support sales initiatives by working with New Business, Independent Sales, Chain Sales and Category Management teams, as well as internal departments, on the creation of sales, marketing and training materials to ensure consistent content and corporate branding

  • Responsible for yearly revenue and growth of 950K income budget

  • Manage trade publication advertising, to include analysis of advertising spending and messaging to identify opportunities for improvement and propose advertising strategy, determining themes for ads, being point of contact for publication team, and creation of ads.

  • Work with legal on contract content, review and implementation for all retail marketing vendors working with the retail marketing programs, to include website, retail marketing vendor(s), vendors involved in the production of store circulars, etc.

  • Management and development of the retail marketing program that support independent customers.Responsibilities include budgeting, marketing, new program development, growth and management of over $500K in annual income.

  • Creation/update of informational materials for programs, services, etc. available to our customers and partners to include the development of merchandising programs, Independent quarterly newsletter, Retail Marketing programs, Digital Marketing Guides, Retail Theme marketingand any special projects as requested by management

  • Management of the customer web portal, to include working with internal and external business partners to ensure content is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Management and execution of the speed to shelf program.Responsibilities include management of the STS process, budgeting, growth and management of 400K yearly program Income.

  • Special projects as requested by management (e.g. Salesforce.com sales pipeline creation, Customer Invoice Redesign project, Employee Survey Sessions, integration of Salesforce.com online customer service forms with My Store, Sustainability Practices information/program, etc.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform at a proficient level and be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:

1.Education (Minimum Needed): Bachelor degree in marketing or graphic, web design or equivalent experience in graphic and website design, marketing and administration

2.Experience (Minimum Needed): 5+ years related experience required.

3.Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job:

  • Strong technical knowledge of how web-based technologies apply to web design such as HTML, Flash, CSS, and AJAX

  • Knowledge of Web site structure and functionality, including LifeRay and Drupal platforms

  • Mastery of website analytics tools (Google Analytics)

  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Macromedia Flash

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with strong background creating PowerPoint presentations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task and produce results on deadline in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to develop strong working relationships with management, peers and partners
