As an Automation Shift Operations Manager , you will manage the operations department for their designated shift to meet daily performance targets. You will also be responsible for the training and development of department personnel to meet standard operating procedures, striving for an injury-free workplace.
Ensure system is operational and available to support the needs of the customer.
Manage the team on your given shift and ensure all standard operating procedures are followed.
Assist in troubleshooting any system, mechanical, electronic or electrical issues with maintenance personnel where appropriate.
Train associates in the operation, troubleshooting, and work function requirements for the system.
Engage and collaborate with other departments to address maintenance, system, technology, and operations issues.
Monitor system performance and develop options to continually improve the overall performance of the system.
Coach associates in proper procedures and behaviors to achieve optimal results, within the company’s operations guidelines. Meet all safety, operations, quality, and delivery metrics, or take appropriate actions to address non-compliances.
Assist in troubleshooting stoppages and return system to service as soon as possible.
Address and improve safety issues in the workplace. Encourage team member feedback for resolution of issues.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and regularly monitor the workspace and address issues.
Promote associate engagement through team involvement focused improvement with breakdown analysis, DMAIC problem solving, area and equipment ownership; Ensure scheduled maintenance is performed correctly.
Interface with other system and building departments to maintain the system at optimal performance.
Participate in problem solving and customer warehouse management team to understand the demands of the day and perform work workflow planning and execution.
Keep others informed of any events that could potentially impact our ability to meet the demands of the shift.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field highly desired
Three years experience in automated or engineering field highly desired
A strong understanding of material flow and inventory management systems in an automated facility
Experience in managing teams and performance management initiatives
Proficient in mechanical, electrical and system engineering; able to perform work on these systems
Must be able to assist in troubleshooting any automated systems issues as they arise
Working knowledge of computer networks; able to assist in troubleshooting wireless and wired network issues
Must have basic knowledge of computer hardware, including servers, network attached storage devices, routers and networking equipment
Must be able to effectively communicate issues to Symbotic Customer Support Technicians both on- and off-site
A desire to learn new equipment and assist team members as needed
