Position Overview

The (Sr.) Project Engineer will be directly responsible for leading projects that improve the ES3 operation. This position will work closely with support functions to optimize work and help grow the Engineering Program by mentoring team members, supervisors, and managers on the processes used in our Engineering Program.

Job Description

The (Sr.) Project Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead and manage cross functional teams to perform cost saving, facility upgrades, and safety improvement projects that delivering service, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Oversee day to day work schedule of projects occurring in the facility by prioritizing, mentoring, coaching, and providing experience to the team members and contractors involved in the work.

  • Ownership of project tracking and resource usage within the engineering team and provide project updates to site leadership.

  • Ownership of capital project tracking and execution of the current year and planning for the next year

  • Develop functional knowledge and in-depth understanding to work with and improve Automated Material Handling Systems.

  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to help identify and resolve problems

  • Retrieve and research data from various sources (WMS, TMS, Labor Management, Slot Optimization, etc.) and translate that data into meaningful information to support action plans.

  • Communicate with Engineering & Maintenance to provide resolution and co-development of action to support warehouse operations, start-up projects, acquisition projects and business interruptions.

  • Transforming data into information and insight for investment justification, problem analysis, work prioritization, etc.

  • Provide support across entire warehouse for project success, communication to the operation teams, assisting maintenance installations, travel to other ES3 & C&S facilities, rail, transportation, and rail operation.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering background or a Bachelor's degree in any field with relevant work experience

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant project management or continuous improvement experience

  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining standardized protocols

  • Strong interpersonal skills including teaching/training/coaching people to top performance

  • Continuous Improvement practical knowledge
